Thank you guys for your valuable insight. I think I'd want to manage my first property for the learning experience whether I fail at it or not. I do know myself and a hiring a PM would be in my best interest with future rentals haha. Now finding a great one is the challenge 🤔.

Hello everyone!

I was just curious to get feedback on when hiring a property manager would be appropriate. Do I need one after my first rental property? I am willing to deal with tenants, research companies for repairs if needed. I'd have to educate myself on obtaining/screening for tenants. I can see the value of having a good property manager once I start having more units under my belt. Based off your experience, what suggestions do you have?

Thank you for your input!

@Salvatore Lentini Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. I am a nurse looking to pick up contracts in Houston, Tx. I like the economy and growth Tx has to offer. I plan on buying and holding with looking to use the BRRR method in the future. My question is:

1. How can I find and network with reputable contractors, electricians, plumbers etc. What type of questions would you ask them? Word of mouth is one thing but I'm scared of letting someone work on my house that I don't know.

2. I know it's hard work so I don't mind paying and putting in some work but when do I know if I'm getting getting screwed?

Any insight would be great!
