Thanks everyone for the insight! I should've mentioned earlier that this is a buy-and-hold, long-term rental.

There's a lot of useful info here and it's surprising how much there is to consider for just ceiling fans.

Hi BP! Currently in the middle of a rehab and the ceiling fans either need to be replaced or removed, but I'm not sure what's better.

This is a duplex in Austin, TX. Central A/C is going to be installed. While the fan replacement cost is not a big deal, the main consideration is that the ceilings are low; so, judging by the current ceiling fans that are installed, if you are over six feet, you would bump your head on the light fixture.

- Would you replace the ceiling fans?

- Only replace with a low-profile ceiling fan?

- Aesthetically, would you be concerned that the fan would make the room feel smaller/cramped?

- Is this unnecessary since A/C is being installed?

Thanks!
