I wanted to jump in LN so are you saying these 10-15K properties are in Indy where you're at? Just curious and I agree when the market gets crowded REI flood it, but then it's easier to flip houses then rent (i.e. gentrification).

But for example in San Antonio, it can be hit or miss, I know a amazing rental property that I saw rehabed (looked like something I would see in LA really) in not so great street on the East Side of town where market it getting flooded. This property has 2 1 bedrooms on the first floor and a 3 bedroom on the top.

They ended up lowering the rent on both single units because of location was sketchy and probably layout of rooms.

 @Aaron Bihl

Thanks I went throught the forums searching san antonio and found this so I already read it, I also grew up in "south town" which was called the south side back in the day lol I know the city quite well so a lot of that is spot on good stuff! I would say that the Eastside is booming, but the area where your home is next to will matter quite a lot, not just location.  T

Hello everyone, I'm Tomas and currently in San Antonio. I arrived 1 year ago, and originally left when I was 17 to Los Angeles for 15 or so years. There was no was I could afford a home being an artist in the LA economy. I'm currently a product designer (web/mobile apps/ipad) and I have saved a nice nest egg to invest and want something that will continue to grow and provide for me down the road of life. I've been reading on investing to own a rental property (I hear in SA SFH's are better then multi-units) and now I am here! I'm looking to learn from veterans, get advice and if anything give some value where I can. Cheers everyone. - T
