@Jared Hottle thanks for leaving your feedback man! Makes a ton of sense.

Def make your way to Portland! Just make sure you’re here in the summer or fall to avoid the brutal winters 😂

Hi All,

Has anyone invested in a STR property with little capital? What strategy or tactics did you use to secure one without using up all your savings?

For background, I have never invested in a property but have been considering the idea of investing in a STR property. I don't have a lot of capital to work with but would love to get into something that could become cash flowing and help put more money into mine and my fiancé's pockets for bigger investments!

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate you!

- Tommy

@Chris Egan, Thanks for your note man. That would be a dream scenario: house hacking and being in the green at the end of the month! I'm really hoping for an opportunity to do that as my first investment. We shall see! Thanks again for your input!

@Stephen Spradley Great thought. Definitely not as "sexy" but is certainly something I'm considering! I'm not much of a handyman, so a project like this could be even more difficult but could pay major dividends simply from how much I'd learn about the REI process and ALSO the handyman aspect. Appreciate your input!

@Ryan Keenan Thanks for the feedback man! Def would love to go the duplex or triplex route in my area... In process of looking, along with thinking of all the other great options folks have suggested on this thread!

@AJ H. Appreciate you AJ! This is some good feedback. I love that you brought up the question of “what is my why”. While cash flow would be super nice, my current “why” is to get into a position where I don’t have a mortgage/rent payment to help limit my expenses, therefore helping me to invest in more properties in the future to support myself and my family, and pay off my student loans faster.

I have begun thinking about who I could possibly partner with in my first investment and think that would be a really wise route to learn more from someone who already knows a thing or two about REI.

Thank you again for your feedback!
