@Jon Deavers appreciate the offer. I'll give you a call tomorrow sometime. I think I will pass on the historic properties for right now. Too many constrictions to deal with. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Looking forward to connecting. Thanks.

I am about an hour or so north of Richmond, Virginia.

I am thinking of exploring Richmond as an area for SFR and multi opportunities. It seems like an interesting market. I was wondering if anybody has any experience in this market and can clue me in. fyi, I am still new at this.

Appreciate the help.

@michael vincent Pitt I am in the Nova area also. Our market is pretty high end. I am also looking for owner financing options. Sometimes you will get listings on craigslist. Best of luck.

According to REIA National, there is only one REIA they affiliate with in the DC area. I just joined a couple of weeks ago. I haven't experienced them enough to form any opinions, but they seem like nice folks.

FYI, I am in the education phase and scouting around resources.

Below is the link to the DC area group.

I have a rental with students. Don't wait to get prospective tenants. Offer an incentive for a good one to wait for your late date. Talk to school housing office for referrals.

Thanks @paul timmons and @Randy Krock. I am working through the ultimate beginners guide and will check out the podcasts and other goodies. I attended a workshop on notes last Sat, which was hosted by the DC REIA, Traction, which I have also joined.

@Randy Krock, are you familiar with the Hampton Roads REIA? It is an interesting area with a lot of variety. I just wish it were a little closer..

Best to all.

Hey, @brendan henry, we should grab a cup of coffee, or a beer sometime. I live in Annandale. I'm curious to see what you think of the Richmond market. I am a newbie on BP also..

Joshua,

Thanks. It seemed to me that I was going to create a new topic outside of the New Introductions "Forum." The hierarchy and the terms under each level weren't clear to me. A corporate trainer by trade, I tend to get overly literal. :-)

thanks again.

Hey Folks,

I have a SF rental property in Newport News Va / Hampton Roads. I live in northern VA. I am looking to learn by doing and just starting to consider the pros/cons of different legal entities. Also exploring the community and the resources on BP - including the people.

Not real inclined to construction or to run rehab crews, but not ruling out much right now.

Looking forward to sharing.

Thanks.

Tom

I want to introduce myself in New Introductions. Do I :

a - Start a New Topic

b - Start a Thread in New Introductions

c - something else??
