It's not the fact that I am looking to screw anyone over. Like I said, if it came down to it, I could just get a sub leaser if my landlord was okay with it. Im not ditching, I was just seeing my options. And im pretty sure our lease is by room anyways so I would just need to work with the landlord and find a replacement.

And if I absolutely have to, I will find a sub leaser but I just wanted to play with the idea and figure out what hoops I would have to jump through and it seems like way more then I want to go through.

Im not officially moving, im just playing with the idea to see how it would be and from what it seems, I should just stay and hold out for a bit which really isnt a problem. I was just playing with the idea of having my own space, so I can have an office etc for work at home.  I just wanted to know how it would have to go down in order for me to leave the space.

I'm not trying to be a bad person here. I believe this house is leased by the bedroom. And Im not moving because I hate everyone and want out, I received a job offer elsewhere and it just wouldn't make any sense to live as far as I am.

I also do not think I should be held accountable because I am for one not on the lease and two, I never really engaged with the landlord about rent. I just sent him the money when he said rent is due.

Hello,

I am trying to move out of my house currently. I am a student of The University of Akron, I live with 3 other roommates, we were all sent lease agreements. Everyone sent theirs back signed. I still have not, and I would like to move. The landlord has been sending me invoices to pay rent since October 2015, but I have been living and paying rent on the property since August 2015, although I am still not technically on the lease because I never sent it back signed. My question is, can I move out without any strings attached. Am I financially obligated to keep paying rent on the lease which is 12 months from August 2015 if I move out of the house before the next rent payment owed. The first invoice he sent me was on October 23, and it was the receipt for the months prior to October. I have been paying rent since August. Can I move without any strings attached?

I have applied for a community aid from an attorney at:

but I really dont think I need one really because in my eyes, I never really was on the lease to begin with. What do you guys think?
