I love Minoan and HostGPO also, but Minoan is free to use! They make ordering items from different companies easy, and you get discounts from each store that has partnered with them.

Minoan does charge you once they put in the order, so it is not for free. HostGPO charges you a fixed monthly membership fee. Also Minoan has so many companies to choose from which makes it confusing if you don't know the suppliers well.

No, they don't charge after placing an order, and I use Minoan all the time! There is a processing fee if you choose the credit card option, but a direct ACH has no additional charges. Those that a familiar with design and furnishing a home know the suppliers, but for a newbie I suppose it would be confusing, although it's confusing for them without Minoan also.

Thanks for your comments about positive experiences using Minoan.  Question - did you work with an interior designer and if so, did either of you tell your designer you were wanting to use furnishings available through Minoan?  TIA!

I would say 30k would be a good amount.

You could spend alot more or substantial less.

You can save some money by buying quality used furniture off Craigslist or FB marketplace.

Hey John,
I'm just wondering if your suggestion about quality used furniture off Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace is predicated on being a local owner?  We plan on being  long distance owners/mgrs and can't imagine findng & hiring someone to rent a truck, drive around and grab furniture on a onesy/twosy basis, particularly within a reasonable timeframe to not delay launch.  Or have you/others been able to accomplish exactly that remotely?  Thx
This is my type of article! College football and RE investing. Corvallis fumbled at the goaline...sounds like my Beavers!

I didn't see a specific subscription for the BiggerStays newsletter, but selected the Short Term Rental newsletter.  Will it be included in that catagory?

I tried to use a financial calculator once, it just got real hot and burst into flames.

:D
Super impressive - congrats.  I'll continue to pay attention to your posts with that type of track record!

Great comment, V.G.  This is what my gut's been telling me, but gut + advice from seasoned pro's = higher odds of success.  Thank you!

Thanks Collin!  What a wonderful cabin and great job in persevering and rebuilding.  I've read many of your posts here on BP and started following you a few weeks back, so it's great to get your direct feedback.

Thanks Mark.  And cute baby in your photo!

I’d love to hear if your biggest home runs have been from:

a) buying an existing STR, tweaking it with your own unique skill set and applying your experience-proven enhancements to be a top performing property, or

b) converting a previously non-rental property into an STR?

Thanks!

Quote from @Michael Hugh:

Hi Dan and Rudy,

Any positive or negative experiences with Revedy? I have a discovery call with Revedy in a few days, and I can’t find much about them on the web other than their own website. Any information on Revedy would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Michael Hugh

Hey Michael,  Would love to hear your feedback after your discovery call.  Any thoughts you've formed would be helpful to hear.  Thx, Tom
