Hi i have an abandoned property that I'm trying to purchase and Im running into some difficulties finding the lein holder. The county suggested talking with a lawyer. Can anyone recommend a good lawyer in the Eugene OR (Lane County) area? Any help I can get will be much appreciated. Thank you.

About 3 years ago My Wifes Grandmother died, and her home has been left empty. I contacted the county for info on the lien holder and they have no info at all. The only info the county had was taxes due. The children have no info on the home and I am at a loss with this. The Property is located in Lane County Oregon. Does anyone out there in BP land have any ideas on how to purchase this home before it goes into foreclosure? How to find out who the mortgage company is? Is it possible to purchase this home before it goes into foreclosure? Thank you for any and all help on this issue.

I recently dropped my contribution amount down to maximum match requirements. IMO anymore than that is a hindrance to active investors as available 401k investments are extremely limited In many cases. Also keep in mind at today’s stock market valuations, the returns on money’s invested could return next to zero over the next 20 years due to overvaluation . Just as RE investors don’t purchase over priced houses/properties, we shouldn’t invest in over priced companies/equities  either. Look at the Shiller PE http://www.multpl.com/shiller-pe/, It’s a great indication of where we are at with stock market valuations. For me my cash can be better utilized in other investments for maximum returns.

Thank you to everyone who posted in this thread there is some great info here.

Just ordered both books over the weekend can't wait to dig into them... going to use them not only for flips but also BRRR strategy on long term holds...

Exactly what I’m planning on doing my friend... Thank you for the kind words.

Ok so I got distracted with some other family priorities in 2018. I married my Fiancé which took up a lot of time and planning and have been working my tail off in my W2 job. For 2019 I’m getting back on track with RE goals and have even upgraded to a pro acct. As far as studying and listening to podcasts I never stopped the learning process, and am almost done with all the podcasts.

Getting back on track and attending the webinars.

From the research I've done it seems that expense ratios on SDIRA's can be very expensive. Have you ever thought about just taking a loan out on the 401K? You can take up to 50% or up to (I believe) 50K, then you can enact the BRRR strategy pay back the 401k and have the best of both worlds. plus the interest you pay on the loan goes back into your acct.
