@Drew Sygit Excellent point. I do agree with you. Those are usually trash contractors. Craigslist types. That we are not. The last 2 companies I contracted for I was with for almost 15 years. Due to the downturn in the housing market and skyrocketing prices the work has become scarce. Don’t get me wrong. I have plenty of regular customers. However, I have found PMCs are the best way to go. Sometimes PMCs change their business model as well. This causing struggles with contractors.
For example, one company I was with. Was not willing to accept that HVAC commodities were rising rapidly. They were not willing to accept rising prices. We, never raised our prices until we had no choice.
We appreciate and respect how this industry works. And we are good at what we do. I am looking for my next “long term” company to provide my services to. I can back that up with plenty of reputable references. We’re definitely not fly by night and chasing dollars. We are chasing long term customers who respect us as much as we respect them.
