Hello,

We are currently living overseas and want to buy a home for our return to the states.  At first I thought to buy it as a primary residence knowing I would rent it out until such time I returned.  However when investigating this I see I would likely be commiting fraud.  Can someone suggest the best options for us or any experience the same?  Second home also has requirements about occupancy that we are unsure we could accomplish.  Thank you.

Thank you @Anthony Simboli@Bryan Blankenship looking to diversify my investments.  This area is insulated from the macro, thus banking on appreciation and shortage of housing.   Beyond this area I am looking for other areas to invest that do create cash flow.  However due to my current profession I don't have the ability to manage and all of it will be 3rd party managed.  Because I have several close friends and family in my focus area it reduces the risk.  In addition we will settle back in that area in the future. Are there any good resources to identify these other good markets?

Trying to assess multiple opportunities in a hot market.  Currently focused on lower end condo/townhomes.  The home prices making it hard to pencil a positive cash flow.  However cap rate is 5% on most properties and when considering equity increase over 10 year period my returns are 15%-20% YOY.  Market appreciation is 3-4%.  I don't need the cash flow to invest in more properties and I am a patient investor with a steady job.  Can anyone help me decide to invest or move on to a new market.  Thanks.
