What kind of account is preferable for starting out in the re business?

I want to keep personal and business accounts separate as that seems easiest for tax purposes. Will there be a limit to transfers from business to personal accounts?

What is best way to use accounts to establish and build business credit?

What tools do you find work best for farming an area?

I am looking at using the following:
- Car & bicycle
- 3 ring binder with laminated printed maps
- digital camera (smart phone)
- grease pencils
- index cards for notes

Have had delays in our move to Wilmington, NC due to some medical testing for my transfer out of military. I am finished now, paperwork in hand! Wooohoooo!!!! Time to make some money!

I am in hotel w/depressingly slow internet so it has been frustrating to attempt posting and reading emails.

Business phone will be obtained beginning of August.

REI club meeting is 14 Aug and I will be there.

In process of reading "Think and Grow Rich" for second time with DETAILED notes (in the form of mind-mapping after a fascinating book by Tony Buzan entitled "Make the Most of Your Mind")

Have some good, simple ideas for business names and designs for cards/ website but I am concerned with violating copyrights/ laws. How do I verify my names have not been "taken"? I have done a google search but am not confident with results. How do I protect my ideas?

Puzzles are doing great and i am even learning to play better chess (the computer still beats my tail, though!!).

My next trip down to Wilmington is this week to sign some paperwork for our new residence. While down there will write down all the phone #s I see on bandit signs, FSBO publications, RE flyers, etc. I also intend to scout the local courthouse and introduce myself. Time to network!

My name is Timothy Launhardt and I am originally from Upstate NY (Red Hook). I will be "transitioning" out of the USN after 20 years. :beer:

Will be moving down to the Jacksonville, NC area in early summer.

My goal is to learn different arenas of real estate investing and apply that knowledge to obtain financial independence. i intend to start out wholesaling properties part time for the next few years to build up income, pay off debts and help restore my credit.

I am also interested in lease optioning in order to both generate moolah and help other people out of a jam.

I realize I have much to learn to be successful in this endeavor (did I spell that right;0) but i look forward to meeting new people and absorbing their ideas/ knowledge.
