Hello - I listed one unit (my unit) in south loop a month ago- had a ton of activity in August but both the 2 potential tenants who both paid for background checks fell threw! What luck right?
September is crickets.. Anyone else facing similar issue in South loop.
seriously considering getting section 8 inspection scheduled. any pointers, suggestions.

Initially I listed for free on Zillow
4 days ago paid flat fee MLS to list on MLS and have zero leads from there

Thanks for everyone's input. I dont intend to deny. however, I have not had any inspection done/put in the paper work to be assigned as section 8 housing designation.

Also - I dont want to be tied to having to provide CHA housing only. is there a provision in Chicago area for those who are CHA authorized landlords, they can choose not to do that (even while actively qualified?) I would prefer to rent to someone who has 4x or 3.5x income to rent ratio.  But perhaps my thinking is too conservative?

Perhaps for everyone else's benefit, also posting here: ..

I am in Chicago. Not sure where to go to find the rents from section 8 certified landlords. My challenge is that I am not authorized/signed up with the city to take on CHA checks, so that will take a while to get a tenant. In the process, I would either lose this potential tenant and yet would have gone thru the process esp. when I wanted to avoid getting engaged with the city

Like someone's comment elsewhere - the tenants who come thru this program are not well earning, so what is the probability they will 1) stay longer& not have to be evicted and or 2) the payments in time/ partial 3) will they trash the place

Hello
I had never heard of CHA voucher in chicago and RTA forms. What are these? Do i need to be certified or do some official thing to take in a tenant like that? I wanted to avoid all that since that (i am assuming) will make things complicated for me not to mention the timely payment of rent.
i am in Chicago cook county and in loop.. Am I obliged to take in a person who offers to pay by CHA vouchers?

The tenant toured my place, said is employed (+i googled) , came across to me as very polished  and came to tour the unit with her mom. The young lady is moving out of living with her parents, so I assumed she could afford to pay via a paycheck but she sent a text saying she will forward RTA form and CHA voucher.  Should I consider taking in the tenant or pass?

@Mark Ainley

Would you be able to share the list with me as well. Thanks

I have one south loop condo that I want to rent out (recent tenant moveout) Would have liked to buy a 3 flat (about 3-4 years ago) but wasnt sure if the timing, amount of work needed, market etc. was all aligned, so had cold feet. would like to learn more via these groups

thanks

Hello - is anyone else facing the issue of being unable to retrieve the tenant screen report?
I called them and they said - the issue is on the 'transunion' side? wonder if there are any other services I can use?

thanks
