Hello, my name is Tim. I’m a 36 year old single father to a 2 year old. I live in the Twin Cites area of MN. I am hoping to find someone or a few people that are willing to  share their thoughts/ideas/suggestions.

Investing in real estate has always been a dream of mine, however I have not yet made the jump into it as I’ve had my fair share of problems in my life.  I am currently working a 9-5 (actually more of a 3am - 3pm).   I certainly have at least a few barriers to getting started such as a Chapter 7 about 3-4 years ago, currently have a high amount of bills and little money saved.   I do have my positive qualities such as having worked in property management as a leasing agent and resident manager. I worked for a short time in an county assessors office as an appraiser, obtained a B.S. in Real Estate at the age of 23, my father currently is a do-it-all handy man who does a lot of work on single family rentals (so I’ve learned some about repairs and have access to his skills and wealth of knowledge).    So far I have taken the steps of joining the BP group, I’ve read Rich Dad Poor Dad, I’ve organized my finances to be able to start paying down my liabilities to create the ability to lower my debts and build a savings and I’ve never purchased a home before.

What I’d like to do is build my knowledge, skills, confidence and network. I like the idea of potentially starting with an owner occupied rental whether it be a single family or duplex at some point. It may be several months or even a year before I can potentially buy, but if I can find someone that would be willing to share their time/experience/knowledge, I am willing to learn, work and hopefully benefit for not only myself, but most importantly my son and his future.   Thanks!!
