@Drew Sygit  You are correct, Michigan is an excellent location, for all the reasons you mention. WA state became an area of focus because a number of folks in the group are on the west coast, and it's just closer for them (it is very pricey, though). Upstate NY is a focus area because there was already a group in Rochester who have been bouncing this idea around, who joined us.  But in our discussions, Michigan (along with WI and MN) was discussed a lot. I could probably find some folks who are interested in Michigan, but there would need to be someone to lead the charge.

What I want to do (would you like to be involved?)

I am working with a group of people who are concerned about extreme weather disasters and climate change, and want to create resilient, sustainable communities in the northern parts of the US. One area of focus is Rochester NY, another is in Washington State. There are others. Looking for folks who would like to partner on this endeavor and perhaps even become part of the communities we are planning to build. Please message me if interested!

About me (relevant experience):

Licensed real estate agent in Missouri (not where I am looking to do this development, though)

Some database marketing experience (IT background)

Back office, Quickbooks book keeping (having an MBA helps), know my way around financial sheets

Help my wife with property management (residential SFH rentals)
