Hey thanks everybody for taking the time to reply! It’s crazy how much I’ve learned in such a short amount of time. I’ve really dialed in my skills on analyzing properties. I am still not fully decided on exactly what area of the twin cities I want to invest in but have been researching and thinking a lot about it. I plan to visit different areas to get a better feel for them. One thing I have to come to realize quickly is that this is a very competitive market and it takes patience and creativity to find a deal. I know I want to house hack and am still going back and forth on single family vs multi family. I just picked up “The House Hacking strategy” by Craig Curelop and I think this will definitely help me get more clarity and decide on my strategy.

Hey @Stephanie Haggerty Thanks for taking the time to reply. Its really awesome to have a forum like this to connect with others who have the same goals! Good luck to you as well in your future investing.

@Adam Tafel I just saw that you replied as I was after typing up my response to Tim. Thanks for the input! I have actually been preapproved with one lender but their are definitely still some unknowns I have to figure out. I may actually have to talk to @Tim Swierczek because he has a good reputation on the forum as a lender.

@Tim Swierczek Thanks for the Reply! I know this is very generalized because I have yet to really define a target area, but say I did choose to house hack do you think I would be able to find a property that makes sense as investment on the mls? Or would it be in my best interest to explore other avenues?

Hi everyone! I have recently developed an interest in buy and hold real estate investing. I have been trying to absorb as much information as possible about the subject through podcasts, books, and of course bigger pockets! I am looking to house hack or brrrr my first property within the next year in Minnesota. I really want to develop the skills that I need in order to do this successfully. I am looking to network with fellow investors.  I felt that this would be a great first step! I have a lot to learn. I am open to any advice/tips that you may have for me. Thank you
