Post: Buying Tax Liens in Texas

I am needing some advice on buying tax liens against a property. I know all about the perks of purchasing them but I am unaware of all the risks that come with it. Could somebody lay out the risks and what to know with purchasing tax liens. What should I be concerned about? I would be happy to here some actual experiences with purchasing these so that way I can make a more educated decision on how to buy.

Thanks!

I apologize for the delay to yalls response! I think I would be able to play with 8K and maybe using that to apply for an FHA loan @3.5% (if available) to invest and to start my real estate portfolio in a multi-family home property. I am more interested in wholesaling at the moment and I am quite fascinated with how the process works. However the Austin, Texas market is what I have my eyes set upon but I am a little shorthanded with my networking and connections. Any advice on the strategies and experiences that you guys have had on gathering those valuable recourses.

Thanks

I am just now getting into the real estate business and I am wanting to take an aggressive approach to some of the opportunities in today's market. What would be the best strategy to leveraging my first deal with very little connections and hardly any money starting out. Also what would be my greatest advantage? Wholesaling, hardmoney, OPM or getting on an assignment? Thanks
