My take is:

1) This confirms that rental real estate is one of the best channels for making money. The best minds in private equity have figured this out and are going all in.

2) It will be very tough to compete against their business models and capitalization. They will have the best resources especially in the areas of valuation, accounting, contracting, property management, purchasing and selling. The article shows who they are and how they operate locally.

Chinese economy appears to have flourished as a result of less govt intervention and a more predominant capitalistic approach. I highly doubt China will seize its citizens assets anytime soon. I believe the Chinese are buying U.S. assets because they do see value in them.

I agree the U.S. is a better value. The choice is a free market-driven economy vs. totalitarian government intervention. Here's the result: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50152767n
