Downtown, check out DC REI Rockstars. And in MoCo, the Gaithersburg Real Estate Meetup. Different formats but both are educational and very welcoming. You can find them on Meetup

@Justin O'Malley

I think it's an incredible gesture of loyalty to their employees. Not to mention, everyone in the country now knows their name

Could anyone in the area recommend a great general contractor who works with investors? House is in Silver Spring. Per J Scott's advice, I want to walk through a potential flip with the GC to estimate pre-purchase rehab costs. Thanks in advance.

@Basit Siddiqi

Long term, my strategy will be buying & holding to build cashflow for more deals. That said I'm preparing to offer soon on a SFH which seems suited for a flip.

Getting started in rental property investing (no deals yet). I'm looking for a great CPA with knowledge or other clients in Maryland. Friendly to RE investors obviously. Prefer to work remotely/digitally for all support (which it looks like many CPAs do nowadays).

Thanks, Tom

Hi everyone, I'm new to real estate investing and looking to educate myself in the most effective way possible. Could anyone in the DC/MD/VA area recommend nearby REIAs/Meet-ups? I'm currently in Silver Spring. It would be awesome to meet some local folks from this forum. Excited for what the future holds: financial freedom! Thanks, Tom
