Hi @Benjamin Obeng, are you at all interested in House Hacking? There could be some great opportunities in The Bronx to purchase a multi-family, live in one unit, and rent out the other(s) OR purchase a multi-room apt unit and rent out available bedroom(s). I live in Manhattan and work as a real estate broker at Compass, but I'm very interested in investing in The Bronx with all of the rezoning and infrastructure improvements in the pipeline for the borough. Let me know if you're interested in connecting!

Hi @Andres S Menendez, welcome to BP! I'm a NYC broker at Compass and I'd be more than happy to sit down with you to go over properties that would be great house hacking opportunities. Compass offers a service called Compass Concierge in which they'll front 3%-5% of the listing price for virtually any type of renovation. These costs are recouped on the sale (from the seller) for no interest or extra fees. Buyers such as yourself are able to utilize the service if the sellers agree to co-list with the respective Compass agent. Let me know if you're interested in learning more about Compass Concierge or potential properties I have access to through the REBNY RLS.

Thank you @Christopher Phillips, I really appreciate the recommendation!

Hi BP community!

My name is Taylor Yasui and I'm seeking recommendations for real estate schools in NYC to take the 75-hour NY State Salesperson course. I'd like to know if one school stands out in the industry for its network with brokers, reputation, value-for-money, etc.

I'm looking forward to hearing back from fellow New York / Tri-State area members!

Hey Alex,

Great to hear your short and long-term real estate investing goals and your plan on materializing said goals.

I find myself in a very similar situation. I'm leaving my current job at an artist management and booking agency to obtain my NY State real estate license at the beginning of 2019. With access to more deals as an agent, I also aim to house hack in one of the outer NYC boroughs, probably somewhere in Queens.

Eager to hear more about how things develop for you!
