Quote from @Taylor G.:

@Tim Delaney Hi Tim, Thanks for the welcome! I did reach out to an agent using the BP tool and have been in contact with them, so fingers crossed.

The first agent I started working with about a year ago was a friend of a friend (maybe that was the first mistake). Nothing was "wrong" with them per se, but they were not nearly as dedicated as I needed. The interactions were mainly me sending places I wanted to go look at, and making offers with very little guidance from them, ultimately only to lose out on the bid.

All in all, I've learned that being this early in my investing journey, I need an agent who is not only familiar with investing (or is an investor) but will reciprocate the same dedication and drive.

I will definitely research meetups in the area! Thanks for the tip.

@Jonathan Greene @Nicholas L. A bit more background! By "on and off" I was referring to taking a break from looking all together this past summer. After no luck with the realtor after 8 months of the same thing over and over again - I lost a bit of motivation and just stopped searching Zillow for hours a day.

I realized that trying a different realtor might be the best next step - which brought me here. I've been in touch with two new agents from the BP community and have high hopes so far, so we shall see.

Hi all,

I am new to the real estate world, and my primary purpose in posting this is to introduce myself to fellow investors and agents in the area. I live in Fairfield County and am looking to invest in a property for house hacking somewhere in New Haven County.

I've spent the last year or so (on and off) looking for my first investment property to house hack but have had minimal luck. I have yet to find a real estate agent eager to help kick-start my investing journey, so I am open to having conversations and meeting new agents. Overall, I am looking to seek connections and resources to learn as much as possible about real estate investing and grow my network in the area.

I look forward to connecting!

-Taylor
