@Connor Smith Thats strange they hit you with those extra fee's. The house I just completed had original weighted windows from 1924. No extra charges either. $200 a pop for old windows removed and new installed. The difference in New York and Louisiana ha!

Regardless, Window World does free estimates. Definitely worth getting having them quote it.

I just used Window World to replace 9 windows. They came out took measurements, ordered windows, came back 4 weeks later, removed old windows and installed new ones. All for $200 each. I'm not sure that can be beaten by a contractor. I did pay in full upfront to have the order rushed..they're backed up 6+ weeks right now due to the flood. Overall extremely satisfied. Hope that helps!

List Source has no data prior to year 2000 for my target area. Is there any alternatives to List Source? Thanks!

I have a rehab I'll be starting next week on the north shore and had a few roofers quote it. I'll be going with Roof Crafters..definitely worth going them a call.

I'll do my best to explain this...

I have been mailing to absentee owners for over a year now off and on with moderate success. I changed up the criteria recently using "last sale dates" (along with some other changes). When my partner bought the list we realized there was NO data for sale dates prior to 2000. After contacting List Source we found out for this entire Parish (county) they had zero records prior to 2000 for ANY criteria. So in short anytime we mailed we were only mailing to data collected from 2000 to current day. Not ideal at all...

So be sure to check sale dates or how far back the data goes. Even if it's not in the criteria you are using check to be sure there is data dating back as early as possible.

Post: Design help: mini split and flooring

I may have little to no choice but go with mini splits (ductless AC) for a portion of a house I am rehabbing.  Does anyone have experience with trying to hide them? I am most concerned with disguising them the best I can in the living room and kitchen.

Also, I am having a tough time deciding on what route to take on flooring. The front of the house- living/kitchen/guest bedroom are all 100 year old hardwood getting refinished. The back of the house will be master suite/laundry/guest bath/foyer. Ideally the back would all get the same flooring but I want to avoid going from hardwood to a secondary wood flooring. So tile solves that, however I would like to avoid tile (or carpet) in the master bedroom. So, is 3 types of flooring on one level any concern?

Any solution to insure it flows nicely?

Attaching a drawing but I'm not sure if the quality is good enough to really grasp the floor plan.

Thanks!!

Message me the details and I will see if I can be of nay assistance.

Remove the numbers/dates entirely and in my opinion the show is pretty accurate with some scripted drama.

Regardless, you get to see someone purchase a home, diagnose the problems, redesign, repair, then resell the home, with a few missteps or unforeseen problems. Spot on to me.

The entertainment and inspiration value is great. Plus you get to see how someone else would execute budget/design/repairs/etc even if it isn't entirely "reality".
