This discussion thread is so inspiring to me!  Thank you Marylou (and everyone else) for posting! I'm 45 years old and I'm just now starting with educating myself, but all of these comments reassure me that I'm not crazy for wanting to do this at this time in my life as well as the fact that if I'm patient and take the time to do things one step at a time (without fear of course), then I too can be successful!  Love it!

Hello all!

I just wanted to introduce myself - my name is Tammy-Jo and I'm not actually a real estate investor...yet!  I'm currently a registered nurse but I would love to learn more about real estate and someday hopefully in the not-to-distant future start by flipping.  So I'm just here learning and getting answers, etc.  I am curious, though, is there anyone on this site in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?

Thank you to all of you who are on here, have experience, and take the time to answer questions posted by beginners like me!

@Melissa Gittens Thanks for the response!  When I first posted this, someone posted that it was not a good idea to get a real estate license and one of the reasons is because you would have to disclose that you have a license whether you're doing a business or even a personal transaction - what is the downside to that?

Thank you everyone for the comments - a lot to consider.  For now, my initial interests are in flipping houses, but that could change as I continue...again, thank you!

Hello all!  I'm new to the Real Estate Investment scene, so I obviously need to begin by educating myself.  My question is, do you think getting a real estate license is a good way to break in and get information/education?

Thank you for sharing this information - the fact that you're 19 years old, in college, and diving head first into this endeavor is very impressive, keep it up!
