@Demario Scott Nice to meet you! Yes we definitely have a huge advantage starting so early. My dream in life has always been to be able to stay home with my kids and I hope to be able to achieve that once my fiancé and I start our family. I have been listening to a lot of podcasts and they have been super inspirational and I have learned a lot from them. I think ill definitely be starting my investments sooner than I thought but will make sure I have enough knowledge of what I'm doing before I do so. Wish you best of luck :) Maybe we can keep in touch and help each other out!

@Will Long That sounds like a smart approach! I think ill definitely want to get into that in the future. The thought of being a landlord to multiple home sounds overwhelming so that sounds like a more stress-free way to make some money. Gonna look into that book! Thank you for the recommendation!

@Matthew G. Thanks for the advice! I actually hadn't given any thought to the fact that I don't have a w-2 job (neither does my fiancé) I will have to look into it with my boss to see if she'd be willing to pay me on the books. Maybe ill do that vs quitting my job right away. I get paid way over minimum wage so it would be my best bet. I'm definitely going to look for a lender to get some exact numbers so that I can start planning ahead.

@Brian Pearcy @Brian Pearcy ah yes , i’ve learned this under different circumstances haha. i think i’m pretty good with handling finances and am very anal about spending money so i’ll be sure to be patient and not rush into anything

@Exiquio De La Mora thank you! Yes I am loving BP and have learned a lot so far. Thank you for explaining wholesaling! I don’t know if it’s something i’d be interested in but i’m going to look into it a bit. I think i like the idea of actually owning a home but i still have a lot to learn

@Will Long i definitely want to invest in properties , start off with rentals and in the future i want to flip houses. My father works with carpentry and my fiancé does hardwood flooring so it gives me an advantage since i won’t have to spend as much money on reno. What exactly do you mean by wholesaling?

Hello! My name is Tailine and I am 22 years old. Currently working as a full time nanny but tired of working for other people. I am getting married in May of 2019 and have been trying to figure out what i want to do as a career. My ultimate goal is definitely to reach financial freedom and I am very interested in becoming an investor but have no idea where to start. This will probably be a long post but i appreciate those who can give me some advice. My plan right now is to get as much information as a can through podcasts and books. I have purchased a few books on investing (recommendations would be great) and have been listening to all the Biggerpockets podcasts. I plan on taking the Real Estate Agent course to learn about the business and really know what i’m doing but i won’t be able to do that until after my wedding. I would like to be able to purchase my first home by the end of next year but have no idea how realistic that really is, my fiancé and i currently have no money saved (what we have will be for our wedding). And also don’t know if it’s the best idea to jump right into it. I want to buy a multi family house and rent it out as my first investment. A few questions: Is it a good idea to become a Real Estate Agent first before becoming an investor? Or is simply taking the course enough? I’ve read a lot of mixed opinions on this. Would it make sense to quit my job to fully invest my time into learning more? What is the smartest strategy when it comes to purchasing my first home?
