Charles,

I'll be moving to Enid mid-2017 for my job (Air Force). Why are you considering Enid to invest in real estate? There are deals everywhere, granted (I'm banking on it), but I'm surprised you would want to expand into Enid vs. OKC or Houston... Do you have family in the area? Have you heard that Enid has a great investment market? From my limited research so far, Enid looks great for buy-and-hold, rentals, BRRR, etc. so I'm hopeful myself. I don't think I would have considered it otherwise though. I'm interested to know your thoughts. My wife's family is from Enid, multi-generational, and property values have gone up, not down even in the wake of the quakes. A larger concern for investing in Oklahoma is the health of the oil and natural gas industry. Earth quakes = Fracking taking place = natural gas industry at work = money, jobs, and booming industry. Maybe? Earthquakes my be a sign of industry at work...

Thank you all for the welcoming responses and support!  I can feel the love!  If no one minds me asking, what would be the ONE thing/tidbit/node of advice you would give a new investor?  I would love to hear your opinions.

My name is Tad Rowinski. I am an active duty military member serving in the Air Force as a pilot. I currently fly the KC-135 Stratotanker and have recently learned that I will be heading to Enid, OK to fly the T-6 Texan as an instructor pilot. I met my wife while I was in Enid years ago when I was a student pilot, it's great to come full circle. What is even more fantastic is my new found interest in REI! Isn't that why we're all here? I'm currently deployed and have been using my spare time to read books on real estate investing; I've almost read the entire BP series! My goals are to create a manage a successful property management company with a vast portfolio of cash flowing investments using the famous "BRRRR" strategy (thanks Brandon). Anyone else? I would also like to dabble in wholesales and flips for some quick cash and to experience the pride that comes with breathing new life into a forgotten or abused house. I look forward to becoming more active on Bigger Pockets and talking with all of it's great contributors and community members.

To financial freedom, cheers!
