Thanks man I appreciate it. Kind of overlooked the obvious. I'm actually a financial anaylst for a defense contractor and I realized its time to make a change. I've been saying I want to get into real estate for the last couple of years and up to this point it has just been talk. Now I'm going to take action.

@Mehran K. thanks for the welcome. I realized the only way I'm going to make a change is by stepping out of my comfort zone. With all the reading I have been doing, I am leaning towards the Buy & Hold strategy. I know I have more to learn and I welcome any pointers.

Thank you all for your insight. I am a ways out from actually making an offer on a property, but I definitely appreciate the guidance. I'm realizing that there are many different ways to invest within the realm I plan on taking. And with a community like this it is extremely helpful for a newbie like myself.

I am new to RE Investing and still learning. I was looking at properties in my area and came across a few Fannie Mae owned properties. As an investor what issues, if any, would I have if I wanted to purchase a Fannie Mae owned property to rent out?

@Simon W. makes alot of sense. I wouldn't want to sign up for something I don't agree in.

@Paul Timmins I will definitely keep that in mind. The unit I am looking at is just a duplex.

I know I have some time before I close on a deal but I could always use some additional pointers from the vets. Thanks

I am a newbie to RE Investing and I have been doing some reasearch and have been increasing my education. I just had a general question about Multi-Family units. Since I am just starting out, would it be better to invest in a multi-family unit with tenants already there or not?

Hello All! My name is Tadd Hale and I am a Newbie from the Tampa Bay Area. I am a devoted husband and proud father. I currently work for a Defense Contractor and have been doing so for almost 6 years now. I have always told myself that I wanted to get into Real Estate, but I have been too fearful to start. I realized that the only to start is to take the first step. And this is me taking that first step. I look forward to the Journey ahead. I know it is going to entail alot of learning and stepping out of my comfort zone, but I am ready for it.
