It will also depend of where you are at in investing. If you are just starting out, I would suggest partnering with some great Realtors and communicate with them that you are wanting to learn the business and in return for their expertise, you will be giving them deals. Once your skills and income increase as an investor, those fees associated with being a Realtor aren't that high, at that point it becomes an investment in itself and also a great tool to have.

Don't let the negatives of the initial cost of that be a disadvantage. If cost id the only disadvantage, then I consider that a goal, not a disadvantage.

I honestly thing from all I have read and listened to, that being one is a good thing, but a necessary one. There are a TON of very successful people that have their license.

@Hattie Dizmond, thank you for that information. I figured it was something like that, but didn't want to go around voting on everything that I liked not know what it was.. LOL

Dallas Texas is an AWESOME place to live. I was there about 20 years ago on a business adventure for about 6 months. One of my favorite podcast pastors Matt Chandler leads The Village Church in For Worth.

Thank you again, I really appreciate it.

Welcome @Derrick Shields, I am also “newer” on the forums but have been a active podcast listener for several months. There are a lot of exciting opportunities in Hampton Roads. If I can ever help in anyway please let me know.

Enjoy the journey!

Welcome Anthony, I live here in the Hampton Roads area also and am just starting out in this investing journey. It seems that you have more experience that I do in Real Estate, but I am always willing to help if I can.

Welcome to BP!

Thank you for the information. I wanted to make sure I was doing the correct thing and not handcuffing myself into something that was not a good thing.

I am in the process in looking for a new business location for the primary company that my wife and I own, I contacted a few sellers on a few properties and there were only a few professional interactions that I had. One that I want o discuss is who was the most professional, responded in a super quick manner, and gave me a lot of information on how she could help us. My question is that she sent me an email that had the following statement in it, and I was curious what she meant exactly and is this common practice on the commercial side of Real Estate?

"It was a pleasure speaking with you this afternoon regarding your company’s expansion needs. I’ve attached a copy of our exclusive right to represent you and your company for your review and consideration. I would like to set up an appointment to walk your space and discuss further your company’s needs. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions"

Any advice/information would be helpful.

Thank you,

My name is Tony and I am new around here and to investing. My background is filled heavily with customer service and construction. My wife and I currently own and operate Apple Door Of Chesapeake. We have grown a very successful business, but like most others on Bp are looking to create other forms of income. I am new to the Real Estate game but been around the game for a long time. My business has allowed me to get to know several builders and agents. Looking forward to meeting some of you gals/gals. How can I help you? What are some of you looking for? Do you have any properties for sale? Please feel free to contact me, would love to meet for lunch or coffee to discuss anything Real Estate.

Hello BP! My name is Tony Tillman and I am from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, I live in Chesapeake. My experience is in the construction/building trades. I own and operate Apple Door Systems of Chesapeake, we service and install garage doors, entry doors, commercial sectional and rollIng steel, and service them all also.

I have listened to just about all the BP podcast and am ready to get rolling. I am looking to invest my time and energy to learn investing as I work towards getting my first deal. I am interested in getting a very diverse portfolio, wholesales, flips, and holds.

I am looking forward to talking to and meeting with local investors. Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction.
