Wow thanks for letting me know!! T hat sounds like something I'd love to go to.  My husband is working nights because of the storm (he works for BGE) so I'd have to get babysitting for tomorrow.  Do you know how often these meets happen or how I can connect with these people?

Thanks everyone @Joe Norman nice.  I grew up in the DC suburbs but moved up here 11 years ago for the lower cost of living.  Montgomery county is kind of insane.

@George Blower thanks, I was thinking about registering for one of those. I think I'll just go ahead and do it!

I would only do it if you're worried about getting a good tenant in that area. Also ask to meet in the middle.  They really shouldn't get a discount on housing just because they are "used" to paying that much.

Hi all, I've been lurking here for literally years but recently actually registered for the site. I'm from Bel Air, MD (north of Baltimore) and have one rental property which has worked out amazingly well so far. However it used to be our primary residence and we became accidental landlords when we moved. But now I want to actually go out there and do my first real deal. I'm working with an agent and have my eye on a few properties. My goal in the future is multi-family, but currently my husband is not completely on board (he hasn't said that, but I can tell he's less than enthused with my REI aspirations--he's skeptical). Anyways, I have been learning a lot here and look forward to learning a lot more, if you all can take my stupid questions.

I work full-time as a cancer data specialist (contractor for federal gov't). I love my job, but that doesn't mean I also can't love REI. Right? :)
