Post: Neighbors fence ruining curb appeal

This is the lot map of my new house that is getting constructed in cul-de-sac. We learnt our neighbors house is not facing into cul-de-sac, but into the other street. And their fence is along the green line in the pic. Their fence is going to block our house view from street and I am very disappointed about that. Our neighbor house is built by another builder and their construction is slated to start soon(in next 3 weeks). Is there anything that I could do? I am not even sure if I can even sell my house if I don’t like the house. Nobody would like to have a house whose view is blocked by neighbors fence. Please advise.

Thank you all for clarifying. I'll file Homestead as you guys are suggesting.

I bought an old house in mid July of 2020 in Austin for my primary residence and I have been staying there ever since. I signed contract for another house(new construction) around Austin and planning to move there and rent out the current house. New house is expected to close around August/September in 2021. I want to use Homestead for new house because it will incur more property taxes than old/current house. Is filing Homestead for current house worth it as I am planning to file Homestead for new house (in which case Homestead for current house will be lost) I am going to close later this year?

We are interested in buying a lot to build our house. But this lot is little irregular. It is this shape- https://imgur.com/gallery/1bod.... I am also paying 9k in premium for this lot as it is bigger than other rectangular lots next to them. Is this house going to be less desirable for potential future buyers? This is my first home and I am skeptical whether I should proceed with this house.

@Jim Cummings Thanks a lot for the details!! @Justin R. looks like there is some issue with the file. I cannot view/download it.

Does the Taxable Value cap of 10% still applicable if I purchase an owner-occupied house and I will live there?

I want to know if 10% cap rule is applicable for the new owner after the purchase

Wow!! Thanks a lot for the valuable information @Andrew Allen@Justin R.

I understand that Texas rental properties are not a good investment. But, I also want to understand what is the tax rate so that I can make an informed decision. In Indiana state, homestead property tax rate is 1% and rental property is 2%. Likewise, what would be the tax rate for rental properties there in Texas. If you can direct me to any website that can show this information, that would be great!

I will be moving to Austin shortly for my job. I could get reimbursement for Austin house purchase closing costs. I am single and don't need a house right now. So I am thinking to buy house and rent it out. I am not sure if its a good decision. So seeking out some help here

I am planning to buy a single-family house in Austin, Texas or surrounding cities and rent it out. I learnt that property taxes for owner-occupied homes are different from that of rented Properties. What would be the approximate property taxes on rented properties in Texas? And also is it advisable to invest in Austin area in Texas considering property taxes are high?
