Commercial Real Estate. We've had 10 years of strong growth. The past year we've had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at us. Will the trend in the commercial real estate market continue? Why or why not?

@Kazi R.

A couple year old black suburban. It’s not flashy, looks like a utility vehicle, or an official vehicle, yet it’s extremely comfortable and safe.

If the value is "truly" higher, and the appraiser "truly" made a mistake, which happens......  call another appraiser and let them know what happened, ask them where they see the property valued at, and relay that info to the lender and ask them to question the bad appraisal. Give them compassions to forward to their appraiser. They may even consider using the appraiser you found if he's on their appraisal list. If all else fails, find a new lender.

I think engineers are more organized and precise in general. For me, I've also found efficiency to be a priority and it helps so much in commercial real estate lending. I attended Boston University's School of Engineering as an Electrical Engineer. My Father was an Electrician and he was very organized, precise and efficient as well. If he ran electrical cables in an attic where no one ever see them, still they would be lined up perfectly straight and at right angles around corners etc. I learned a lot from him as well, and also that its very important to take pride in your work, whether someone will see it or not.

Add me to the list !
I attended Boston University’s School of Engineering for E.E.  I’d like to say that everyday I use atleast one math or science skill I learned.

@Ray Evans

When I was younger a big developer in Stamford CT told me that no matter how much money you make, you're still a dollar short at the end of the week. I thought that was especially interesting since he was at the time the most successful CRE developer in Fairfield County.

@Peter T.

It’s still a good place to network if you’re here for that. I like the blog the best - there’s some real good info that can be found if you have the time to dig through it all.

I’ve always preferred Delaware. Is there an alternative and if so what are the benefits ?

@Tyler D'Alessandro

Tyler, I would go with Dallas all the way. Austin’s become a popular and trendy town, especially with the high tech sector moving in, but Dallas will always hold value better.
