Yes, I explained to USAA what I needed and they up a policy to cover me as a landlord. Very nice benefit!

     I had some inside info because I know a lady who offered on one house and then had to back out because her house did not sell. The other house has been unoccupied for about a year and a half. The lady who owns it has kept up the outside, but it will probably need work inside. My property next door rented in two weeks and I was asking $1650. I'm a disabled vet, so my insurance is through USAA and I pay about $55 a month for the house I rent now. I went the prop manager route so that I can keep working for now until I have a few more properties. Thanks for the feedback! I would be glad to meet up and visit if you would want to. I enjoy meeting people with similar passions.

I am new to Bigger Pockets and excited about investing in real estate and learning from others. I just recently rent a house in Boerne, TX that I had lived in for about two years. My mortgage after refi is about $1050. Rent is $1650 and I am paying about $165 to a property manager. There are two more houses on the same street that I want to buy to rent. I'm looking into investing ideas to be able to acquire these properties too. I'm also looking for other investors in my area (San Antonio, TX) who would be open to partnering. The two houses that I'm looking at are being sold by the owner. No real estate companies are selling these properties.
