So in Illinois the 15 hour course is for the leasing license and the 75/90 hour course is for becoming a broker/agent?

Thank you guys for the suggestions! @Danielle Cage I hope that my question helped you too!

But this has brought another question to my attention. @Brie Schmidt and @Matt Cramerit seems like both your suggestions are for different types of licenses, one a leasing and one a brokers. Is that correct? And if that is so which one is more beneficial for someone starting out?

Hi all,

Just wanted to know everyone's opinion about this. I was wondering if getting your license online was difficult or if actually taking the classes was worth while? I'm leaning towards online just to work on my own schedule but I just wanted to see. And if anyone knows, where would I sign up or apply to these classes, online or onsite(based out of Chicago)? I feel like when searching for them I came by a lot of different options. Thank you for the help in advance!

Schaumburg would be perfect. Weekends are sometimes packed for me though so have to play it by ear. Just let me know!

I'm bumping this post because I want to see this happen! If anyone wants to do this please message me and we can try to get something going the first week of April, even if its only 2 or 3 other people you have to start somewhere!

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to provide a brief introduction of myself! My name is Stephen Durante and I am 22 years old currently living in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I am currently working as a control engineer in building automation, with experience as an electrical contractor from previous employment. I have no experience in the real estate business, but would like to start learning! I've read numerous books on the industry because it has always been an interest of mine, which is how I eventually stumbled onto BP. I know I want to go into owning and managing properties, starting small and making my way up if I find out that I can handle the lifestyle. That being said, I have some general knowledge of REI but I would like to further learn more with the help of this community. Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Stephen
