Michael, I did finally find someone who could at least let me know if it was for sale or not. They couldn't do much else though. 

OK, we had to modify the date since the venue will be closed on the 28th. We are moving the first meeting to the 4th of June then all follow on meetings for multi-family day will be the last week of the month starting in July. 

Come on out and check it out!

The Bradenton area REIA, Real Estate Connection Group, meets every Tuesday at the Bradenton Yacht club in Palmetto, FL. We are kicking off a multi-family topic day the last Tuesday of every month to focus specifically on Multi-family topics. We invite anyone and everyone that is interested in multi-family property investing within the Manatee and Sarasota county areas to attend to include those with both on and off market properties and commercial lenders looking to fund some of the deals we have out there.

Lunch is $11 and a buffet style with good food. Please come out and help us grow this event and topic into a great opportunity to both learn about investing in multi-family properties and provide a platform from which to buy and sell available multi-family properties to other investors. We would like to have people with duplexes, triplexes, quads and small apartment buildings that are looking to sell or buy attend. 

This is a great opportunity to expand your existing network and find some good deals to add to your investment portfolio. 

OK, after a discussion with our Bradenton REIA president we are moving forward with a multi-family day. I am going to post a new discussion about this in the events forum per Mindy's comment so please look for it there!

Farham, thanks for the offer. Let me talk to Marc at the Bradenton REIA tomorrow. For all I know, there may be a group that already exists. Only one way to find out! I'll let you know what he says then I'll reach out to you and Kayla once I get the lay of the land.

Kayla, I think a multi-family meetup in Bradenton would be a great idea. I do want to secure more SFRs but I also want to get into multi-family opportunities and I think starting a meetup for this would be a great way to share knowledge, experiences and maybe get some deals going. Let's talk this coming Tuesday and hit up Charles about it as well. The other thought I had is maybe talk to Marc and Diane about making one meeting a month a multi-family meeting?  Thoughts?

@Keith C. I do see some discussion on duplexes at the Sarasota meetup but mostly SFR. We do seem to have a lot of sellers vs buyers but then that just means people like me who want to buy get more opportunity! What I have also noticed though with most of the sellers is that they tend not to want to do terms which for a guy just starting out is not optimal.

I haven't been to the Tampa one, how is that one? I have been to the Suncoast one and I also like the Beach REIA as that one is all about making deals. The Beach REIA is where I got my first door. The other large community that seems to show up are private and hard money lenders but not private lenders that allow you to dictate terms. I haven't used hard money yet and, I hope not to unless I have to.

I would say the biggest advantage to going to the meetings for newbies like myself is networking with people who know the business and learning things from questions and experiences that people throw out. I have made some good connections and gotten very good contractor referrals from the Sarasota and Bradenton REIA meetings and also get a good property to pursue every now and again.

No, St Pete one is different. Sarasota one is off exit 210 on US75.
