Post: Selling STR - where to sell furnitures

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for the information and insights you shared earlier. Just an update—our furniture was picked up by a consignment company (for a fee). They will display and sell it in their showroom, and we’ll share the sales proceeds with them.

Unfortunately, while the home was on the market for about a month before we received an offer, my agent couldn’t find a buyer interested in purchasing it fully furnished. After posting in this forum, I started receiving some interest in that fully furnished option—should’ve posted the question earlier! Looks like this forum turned out to be a great resource for connections!

My partners and I are planning to sell our STR property in Phoenix, AZ. We are not locals in Phoenix, and we are wondering where we can sell our furnitures/ housing items. Anyone have any suggestions?

@Bruce D. Kowal thanks Bruce. I'm wondering if there's too much loss on a property, is there any incentive to claim any depreciation? Seems like anything below $0 cannot be claimed/ tax deducted if have MAGI >$150000.

Can the depreciation be claimed starting the following tax year?

I started STR last year (my first investment property) while working W-2 job. Is it true that I cannot claim loss from the rental property if my income is above 150k (married filing jointly)?
