A fixer upper just came on the MLS in my area. It looks like it has great potential but I'm worried to pull the trigger on my first flip during a global pandemic. What are your thoughts?

Thank you both! You’re right. The worst that can happen is she’ll say no. I’m offering half of what she’s asking because that is truly all it’s worth. We’ll see what happens.

Today my husband and I took our contractor to a house we want to flip. After spending a lot of time walking through and accessing everything it needed, we ran the numbers and it needs way too much work for what the current owner is asking (rather what we think she’ll accept). We decided to walk. I’m disappointed now because I was able to put money together to get the loan and I got my hopes up to jump on this particular house. It’s a farmhouse within walking distance to downtown built in 1900. Has anyone else walked from a house they had high hopes for?

@Bob Green I financed 80%

@Kase Knochenhauer good point! Thanks!

What should I do? I just used my savings to close on my first rental property. I’ve had a few interested but no one has signed a lease, though someone has reached out to me to buy it and they offered a renting to own. There are 2 deals in my area right now that I think I could flip but I no longer have cash for the down payment. Should I sell my rental and pursue one of the flips? Should I hold on to my rental and keep saving for a flip though it may take a year and I’ll lose the deals that are currently on the market?
