Yes, investing in Castlegar intentionally since 2008. We have experience in single family and duplex, using the BRRR strategy. Currently, I'm actively looking for a multifamily property, with a preference for Nelson. I'm also learning about self storage, and keeping my eyes open for opportunity. Are you investing in the area?

Hi @Stanley Kong. In the area I live and know well, Central Kootenay, we have a combined population of close to 70k, all close together. Rossland and especially Nelson BC are known for there ski hills, and 4 season nature playgrounds, which leads to a lot of tourism. Nelson BC is cracking down on unapproved vacation rentals because it has left no vacancy for locals.  Castlegar and Trail BC are blue collar towns with employment options and very little tourism, but high demand for rentals. The Alberta oilfield crisis, as well as high prices in the Lower Mainland and Okanagan are rewarding us with some new residents lately and increased demand for rentals.

You might be onto something with me starting a meet-up. Thanks for responding to my intro. I'm so happy to find an online investors forum.

I'm an investor in the Kootenay Region of British Columbia, although that seems so formal, since it still feels like fun. After 8 years investing intentionally in duplexes and single family homes, using the buy, fix, hold strategy, I'm soaking up information about multi-family and joint venture. I've decided to stop playing and move into full-time investing. Looking to learn from others and share from my experiences. My area does not have investors meet-ups, so I'll have to get creative about networking.
