Hi, I'm new to both BP and Portland area. So far I have been owning SFH only, but thinking seriously of getting multi-family homes. With higher cost of multi-family homes in Portland/Eugene areas, do you still get a good ROI? It seems like the rental prices are higher as well. It seems to me, if the ROI is at least equivalent or better than other area, putting higher down payment is justifiable. Thoughts?

@Brandon Turner - Thank you! I'm still relatively new to real estate investing. Just read the BP free e-book and found it very useful. It opens my horizons to so many different ways of investing other than buy and hold SFH. Thanks for the tips on Key Alerts as well. I'm looking forward to networking with some folks and hopefully finds someone as mentor.

@ Eric_Blanchard - I'm still relatively new to the business of real estate investing. Currently we only have buy and hold, but open to explore other opportunities.

Hi all,

I'm a new member in BiggerPockets. I am currently in the process of relocating from Albuquerque, NM to Portland, OR. In NM, my wife and I own a small rental business with 6 single family homes. We are excited about Oregon and looking forward to learning the real estate market in Portland Metro Area. We hope to connect with the real estate communities here and continue to expand our portfolio.

Regards,

Stephen
