@Michael Healy

I agree with those that suggested that you may want to confirm market rent in the area.  Tenants complaining about a rent increase is normal, but if they're actually moving that means they are finding other units on the market that are either cheaper, or are similarly priced but provide some other advantage (location/condition/size/parking/views/etc.)

@Mindy Jensen

Thanks for the info.  I did experience periodic glitches using the previous version, but if I can find an option to switch back to the desktop version in iOS I will do so because I personally prefer the layout of the full site.  Looking forward to the continued improvements for us tablet users!

I just realized that if I rotate my iPad to portrait mode, the avatars, votes etc. appear.  I much prefer to hold it in landscape but I also like to see the data on the post.

As far as hardware/software go, I am using an iPad Air with iOS 9.3.1.  Chrome browser is up to date at least for this version of iOS. Also this layout is new as of a couple days ago, when they announced that the apps have been updated.

Using Google Chrome on an iPad, I don't like it.  No profile photos or any other stats related to the thread, post or poster, just a bunch of words on a white background.  I haven't fired up the laptop to see if it has changed there as well...

@Robb R.

Good to know.  Either way, I'm happy with the pro desktop version and don't plan to downgrade to the online version.  I just hope intuit doesn't force us to do so in the future.

As mentioned on an earlier page in this thread, I spend most of my time here on an iPad. I did spend some time on my laptop over the weekend and overall I really like the changes as experienced on Safari on my MacBook.

If a couple of things could be tweaked on the mobile version then I think the update will have been a complete success. A couple of things I’ve noticed on mobile:

  • Avatars on iPhone – I understand your team is working on this and expect it to be implemented early this week.
  • Hover feature on iPad and iPhone – hovering over someone’s name or avatar is the only way I have been able to see an option for connecting or messaging a person. Being a touchscreen, there is no way to hover in a mobile browser. I’m not sure what the best solution is for this, maybe a drop down menu instead?
  • While responding to a thread this morning on my iPad, I was attempting to move the cursor to the middle of a word that I misspelled. Anyone familiar with using these devices knows that you hold your finger on the screen for a second or two and a little magnifier pops up, allowing you move the cursor anywhere within the text. I could not get this to work in the reply window. The only option appears to be to place the cursor between words. This isn’t a huge deal but it is a bit frustrating when instead of just deleting or adding letters you are forced to delete the word all the way to the error and then retype it all

Thanks to you and the team, looking forward to the continuing refinements.

 I just (accidentally) found out that while using an iPad, if you very quickly tap on someone's avatar or name, the box pops up as if you were hovering your cursor over it. Not sure if this was something that was just fixed or if I was not tapping fast enough. Either way I'm glad I figured it out!

On the advice of friends and several accountants I've switched to the desktop for Mac version. I then had a sit down session with an accountant who walked us through setting up the chart of accounts, and entering fixed asset accounts for each building. The advantage of the full version is the ability to set up each property as its own class, and each tenant as a sub-customer within the class. That way you can break down your reports (balance sheet, profit/loss, etc.) by individual building, or company wide.

I'm still learning, and will be checking out a few books to help me get there, but after a few months I'm sure it will become second nature.

I'm surprised to hear that the online version lacks the class feature, but glad you were able to provide that important info.  The hardest part is setting everything up, it will become second nature pretty quickly.

@Wade Sikkink

My response was based on using QB strictly for bookkeeping, not for property management.  I'd be genuinely curious to hear more detail on what significant basic features I may be missing out on.  I'm not an accountant but thus far my CPA has been happy with the reports I bring in at year end.
