Hey all! Thank you all so much for the comments! I really appreciate getting the variety of people's opinions. It's all very challenging because it's not what I want to hear but that's also why I value the input so highly!

@Devan Mcclish Thank you for the response! I literally just listened to the episode you were on two weeks ago! You were very inspirational and a real challenge to me.
I'll be honest with you, there are other things pulling us towards North Carolina (family, proximity to the ocean, love of NASCAR, yada yada) and I really don't intend to go full time with RE, at least not now. It just seems that for the kind of strategy I'm trying to pursue starting out (buy and hold multi family) there seems to be a lot more inventory out there. Thoughts?

Hi BP community! I have a quick question I was hoping to get feedback on.

My wife and I are considering getting into RE investing but as you all know, location is key. The market we currently live in (Nashville, TN) seems way to hot for a beginning investor and we were wondering if you lovely folks had any input as to where we should get started? We are looking at the idea of moving to Raleigh-Durham or Charlotte, NC (or really anywhere close by to those cities). Does anyone here have an opinion they would like to share regarding those areas?

We are looking to get started by combining house-hacking and Brrrr with an FHA mortgage on a multi-plex (similar to what Brandon Turner did starting out).

Any input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks all,

Solomon
