Hi, I'm considering buying some real estate in Barcelona, Spain, and I'm curious about the current zoning laws. I'm especially interested in finding out which neighborhoods have restrictions on short-term rentals and what are some of the other zoning laws. Thanks!

1 Million dollars should buy you something nice.

Google top short term rental or Airbnb locations. There are plenty of articles that have tip locations. Check a few different lists and see which ones overlap.

Hey John! Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks for your help! I'm in the process of narrowing down a couple of fantastic locations that I'm really excited about.

@Sohina Kareer - I invest in vacation homes before and I'm happy to offer some advice. With a budget below 1 million dollars, there are definitely still some great options for vacation home investments.

First, it's important to consider the location. Look for areas that are popular vacation destinations, but perhaps not as well-known or expensive as some of the more famous spots. For example, you might consider places like Gulf Shores, Alabama or Lake Tahoe, California. These areas offer beautiful scenery and plenty of activities, but at a more affordable price point.

Next, do your research on the local market. Look for areas that are experiencing growth in tourism and real estate. This will help ensure that your investment has good potential for appreciation over time.

When it comes to financing, I recommend working with a lender who specializes in vacation home mortgages. They will have a better understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that come with this type of investment. I also suggest looking into options like rental income to help offset the cost of the property.

Finally, don't forget to consider the practicalities of owning a vacation home. Will you be able to manage the property from a distance, or will you need to hire a property manager? What are the ongoing expenses like for maintenance, utilities, and insurance?

Overall, investing in a vacation home can be a great way to build wealth and enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With some careful planning and the right financing, you can make it a reality. :)

Thanks Jayson! Just sent you a direct message.

Avery Carl’s book! Short Term Rental, Long Term Wealth. It is your guide!

 Thank you, Brooklyn!

I am looking for a high cash flow market, but I may make it my primary residence and keep a floor/bedroom to myself if it's feasible. I want to Airbnb it, which is why I am considering locations near DC, MD, VA, NJ, or NY with year-round or seasonal tourism. I am also open to the West Coast since I travel there every other month for work. Do you have any location suggestions or guidance for me?

Thank you for your questions. Here are the answers:

  1. 1. I prefer locations near DC, MD, VA, NJ, or NY, with year-round or seasonal tourism. Open to other options too.
  2. 2. I don't plan to use it personally, but open to making it my primary residence for potential benefits.
  3. 3. I'm interested in long-term investments (at least 5 years). Any advantages of short-term investments?
  4. 4. Initially, I'll manage it myself for learning purposes, but eventually considering partnering with a management company.
  5. 5. I'm primarily interested in single-family homes (SFH) or townhouses.

Hi everyone, I'm a first-time buyer looking to purchase a vacation home, but my budget is below 1 million dollars. I'd appreciate any guidance on promising areas for investment within this price range. Thank you!
