Does anybody know of any real estate meetups in the Phoenix area?

I want to get started in real estate and network with people who are already involved in real estate.   Any advice or help is appreciated.

I have heard about real estate syndications while listening to BiggerPockets podcast.  I thought the syndications were for accredited investors only but after looking up the 506b offerings, it looks like I could invest as an unaccredited investor if I have a relationship with the syndicator.

By listening to BiggerPockets, I think A or B apartment complexes or storage units could be good investments.  Do you know what investment minimums typically are for 506b offerings?

I am interested in investing in a passive real estate fund such as FundRise or VNQ with Vanguard.  I know that ETF REITs such as VNQ are more liquid, but does anybody have any insight or recommend using FundRise?  

I am trying to figure out if FundRise could potentially lead to higher returns in exchange for funds being more locked up compared to REITs.  I am currently an unaccredited investor and do not have access to invest in most real estate funds.

This will be the first Bigger Pockets event that I attend.  I look forward to meeting everyone!

Where did you find these other syndicator funds to invest in, did you find a meeting or something where people make sales pitches for investments?
