@Dezra Robitson You can absolutely do this. I am new but I have also agreed the only thing left to do is dive in. I would say gather your team if you haven't and really consider your business model. How will you find great tenants, what type of lease, what will your exit strategy be. the more you know your process and how you will accomplish your goals the easier it will be. Also don't give up the freedom we will achieve will be the best accomplishment in the world. Get qualified and figure out the money and then buy a property that fits your criteria!

I am really drawn to the idea of building a large portfolio in low income and affordable housing areas. Areas were 90% or more of my tenants will be on sec 8 and government assistance programs. Some of the concerns I have will be resell value of the property even tho I am contemplating a buy and hold strategy. I am also cute plating what differences will i need to consider in my business model, such as quarterly inspection system? on site management? periodic policing patrol? are there any investors who have made this business model work and can give me some insight on this to consider and tips on how to make it profitable and beneficial for these neighborhoods?

I just recently landed in Evanston, IL and maybe forced to live her to take care of my mother and grandmother. I'm looking for investors and meet ups and partners in the area. I'm motivated to get started building wealth in this area. I have good credit, startup capital, been studying real estate for years, it's now time to pull the trigger. Any seasoned investors in Chicago want to discuss the market over coffee or even skype.
