@Nikki Cepeda @Mark Ainley - Hey Guys! Louis Gilbert with McCarthy property management may be a good option. Not sure if they have coverage in specifically the area you may be looking for, but he could definitely point you in the right direction. [email protected]

If you want to shoot me a PM I can send his cell as well. They do a good job and he's a good guy.

@Haneesh Lakkamsani What's up! I have a few lenders I would be happy to connect you with. I'll send you a message now!

What's up BP,

Does anyone know of any estate sale companies in/around the Naperville area? The perfect situation would be a combined moving/auction company. The idea is: There are quite a few homes where people would be open to turning them into rentals or moving out, if not for all of the stuff inside. They can't handle the idea of throwing everything away, but also are not interested in posting each individual item on craigslist or FB marketplace. They just want everything moved out and given a flat, marginal dollar amount for the items inside.

I know this idea sort of exists with storage garage auctions/sales, but curious if anyone is aware of something like this for SFHs?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Shea

Hi @Sarina Vanmali! Welcome to the Chicago market! There is tons of opportunity here if you know where to look!

If there is anything I can help you with let me know. A great place to start for understanding the nuances of the neighborhoods is --- Straight Up Chicago Investor podcast --- I know podcasts aren't for everyone, but I found this one particularly helpful.

Hey @Maria Teresa Galvez, congrats on getting started and taking the first steps! A great resource for meetups is --- Straight Up Chicago Investor Meetups List --- It's one of the few places I know of that lists almost all the Chicagoland meetups in one place.

What part of Chicago are you located in and what type of investments are you looking for? I would be happy to get more specific with recs!

@John Scully - Awesome that you are getting started at 18. I am honestly jealous I was not thinking this way at that age. I love @John Warren comment on synergy between your business and RE investment strategy. It not only gives opportunity to hit two birds with one stone, but it gives you direction when looking for your first properties.

I would add that going to meet-ups and always seeking more information about what other Chicago investors are doing is paramount. There is absolutely NO rule that says you can't copy what other successful investors are doing in this city.

Check out the Straight Up Chicago Investor podcast - it's got a ton of episodes with Chicago RE investors, including the most recent with John Warren himself! Also on the website there is a *nearly* complete list of meet-ups to check out. (https://www.straightupchicagoi...)

If there is anything I can help with, don't hesitate! I'll shoot you a DM now to get the conversation started.

What's up @Mike Turano, I know there is a great, compact list of meetups at Straight Up Chicago Investor podcast website. Some of which would include the western suburbs! While you're there, the podcast is an excellent place to start getting info from local Chicago area investors. Additionally, I know @John Warren heads up a meetup with Chicago West Suburban Real Estate Investors if you want to connect with him. @Jonathan Klemm is also a good resource as he heads up the Chicago RE Investor Meetup, of which, there is one this weekend if you can make it!

@James Worrall congrats on the two purchases! That's awesome and it sounds like you have already started down the financial freedom path! If you're not already listening to Straight Up Chicago Investor Podcast -- https://www.straightupchicagoi... -- you will love it. It's like BP but it's Chicago specific and they've had some big names from BP on (i.e. David Green, J Scott, Scott Trench).

I would also add that on the SUCI website meetup page (https://www.straightupchicagoi...) there is a condensed list of Chicago specific REI meetups. I'm going to shoot you a connection request now.
