Went to my bank today to get pre qualified for loan on property I’m looking at and was denied due to my down payment being gift funds from my brother. Looking at MF under 4 units and was under impression gift funds where fine for down payment. Is it just bank preference?

Thanks for any advise

@Chris Levarek it’s a single family home converted and rezoned to commercial. I have a decent amount of equity in it and am looking for cash options for next year.

Thanks

Looking to pull some equity out of commercial property. Thinking about a heloc loan just because of options, term and keeping cash option on hand if economy turns next year. What loan options are some of you doing?
