We are looking to purchase a cabin in the Smoky Mountains. I am interested to hear your opinions. Would it be best to buy a REALLY nice 2 bedroom cabin, or an OK 4 bedroom? Or, does it just come back to the location? This is obviously an investment, so I'd like to maximize the income we can produce with this property. 

Also, I am under the impression that it MUST be a cabin......I mean, you go tot he mountains to stay in a cabin, not in a house, right?

What amenities are must haves for these properties?

@EJ K. Sorry for the delay. We ended up settling on the north side of West Lafayette. Just getting moved in this month. Loving it so far.

When you reference a ‘licensed third party’, what type of a business would this be? A bank? A lawyer?

We had one and used TimeShareExitTeam to get us out of ours 6 or 7 years ago. We had to pay a fee, but it was totally worth it!

New to REI. Working on first deal. The seller is willing to carry the note in the property, but I don't know the steps I need to take to protect myself.

After we agree on terms and write it up into a contract, Do I just take the deal to the title company and pay the closing fees? Is there more to it?

Curious what you ended up deciding to do with the duplex? Did you move forward?
