However by 2015 there will be about 18 new condo towers finished and about 15,000 more units coming into the market. That might be a good time to buy in that area as these new condos are all coming up at the same time. I've been looking for deals for a while now and they are harder and harder to find. My mother is from Uruguay and our family lives in Maldonado. I was just in Montevideo about a year ago. How is the real estate over there? I'm planning to buy a house in Solis and retire but I have a long way to go before that.

Prices in Uruguay are absolutely crazy, 2-4 times higher per sq mt than Miami. Solis is probably a good idea, as it has not gone up as much as Punta del Este. I think this winter prices will soften, you will probably be able to hunt for bargains.

Regarding FL, where do you see the best opportunities to buy for rental income?

Thanks Rich. People trying to separate me from my money are the norm in this part of the world ;-)

There are a few companies offering turnkey solutions for Latam investors, many of these very serious, but most are focused on Miami, which I think is already too high. Do you know of similar, serious companies for other markets?

Hi all,

I just joined BP, and so far have found it to be one of the most valuable resources in the field.

I am interested in investing in US real estate for income and diversification. My perspective is long term. I don't have any particular preference regarding geography, but I need investments that don't require my physical presence (i.e., I am ready to pay as long as someone takes care of renting, maintenance, etc).

Many Latin Americans are investing in Miami, where many companies offer the full service, but I see that the prices have already skyrocketed there.

I would very much appreciate tips from the community.
