Thanks to all of you for reaching out and offering to help out. I am shocked at the amount of support that is given in this community. Really glad I stumbled upon it. Can I ask what your main focus has been in this area, given that it is such an expensive market? Wholesaling? Flips?

Hey there,

I am a complete newbie to real estate, but am more than ready to get started. I've been absorbing everything from the forums, blog posts, podcasts, and books that I can. Words can't express how excited I was to stumble across this community.

I currently work for the Navy as a government contractor. I see real estate as a new challenge and hopefully am able to use it to pave a path towards self-employment and financial freedom.

I am a Chicago suburb-native currently living in Ventura, CA by way of Washington State. I love to move around and have always used that as just one excuse (along with a million others) to put off actually investing in real estate. Bigger Pockets as shown me that that is simply a hurdle to overcome and not a reason to not pursue my financial goals.

I haven't definitively mapped out my plan here, but am looking to starting out by house hacking/buy and hold rentals, but have an open mind to diversify my future portfolio becoming more comfortable.

Can't wait to connect and looking forward to being part of the community!
