I am in the market in north jersey. Now I just stay away from in ground oil tanks. I was in the stages or buying a house with an underground. I had my plumber friend come out and he said minimum 15,000 your looking at for the total removal of the oil tank. They had it decommissioned with papers but plumber said there is still a chance it will be your responsibility after I purchase the house. So now I just check out gas or oil tank above ground is easier to remove.

     I'm actually looking around in north jersey mostly Bergen county area. There are deals just seems hard to find them with the high taxes and average prices of homes in this area. My range is 250-350k and you don't get that much for that around here in move in condition. I would like to definitely network with some other investors in north New Jersey just to show me some tips for investing in this area. I have not seen any meet ups coming soon either for northern jersey. I do have a spot available to have one though if someone decides to schedule a meet up in Paramus New Jersey on route 4. There is a panera bread that has a meeting room available. I am working with a new nice real estate agent that I like and he has been helpful in finding some houses. I'm looking for 2 family mostly but open for a 3 family.  I am a full time mechanic for restaurants so I know how to fix almost anything and everything in a house which is good and helpful. But if anyone is interested in networking with me shoot me a message I would like to share thoughts or just get educated. Oh yea and I love this site by the way haha.

During the week is tough for me especially if it is over an hour away from me. If you have any on the weekend I could probably travel that far because I don't see any events happening in the north jersey area at the moment. Hope the meet goes very well. 

I am actually getting my paperwork to get pre approved for a loan this week. Hopefully all turns out well. I can't wait.

hello everyone just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Glenn I currently live in Lodi, nj right by felecian college. I am really interested in getting into the rental real estate market. I have been reading and educating myself for the last year. I am currently looking around at investments with an agent right now. I am very excited to be serious and joining this club, and getting involved in real estate. I really want to have my first house in the next few months hoping I find that heat deal of course. I do have my family support which is a great thing. Are the north jersey meet ups still going on? I checked the forums and did not find any posts for it after June. I definitely want to attend that and meet everyone. I just love to meet people in real estate. Sad to say but what got me motivated awhile back was me being I to nice cars. When I see people with nice cars I feel I must talk with them about their life and decisions. And a great deal of them were involved in real estate that I met which got me to educate myself and be serious. I am a very big talker which my girlfriend makes fun of me for.  I am happy I'm here and can't wait to get more and more involved.

Please if your local contact me north jersey seems like a challenging area to get involved in. There are good deals but seems like you have to really investigate them.
