I would make a separate entity if the function/assets of the business are different than that of your current entity

What do you have in mind?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice on how to form and operate a property management company in Illinois as a realtor.

I currently am a realtor in Illinois and I operate my business under a LLC. How would I need to structure my LLC in order to open up a property management company?

Thank you in advance!

Need a little more information. What are you trying to achieve? LLC structure has very little to do with company operations.

What I am trying to achieve is how to properly open up my property management company and structure it under my current llc in which I operate my real estate business under. As a bit of fore sight, My business partner and I plan to scale the business to have employees.

I am currently paid through my llc for selling homes, but the issue is that when I am to be paid for services of property management, the funds have to pass through my managing broker's office. I am a bit confused on how to structure it all to keep the funds from the real estate business and property management business separate.
