@David Pere good to hear! I have some family loving in Sherwood, well, maybe they still live there lol. It seems that there are quite a few from Arkansas on BP. If you don’t mind me asking, when did you start investing into real estate? We’re you already in or did you start before?

@John Stanley We have a similar market here as in Stuttgart. I kick myself every day for all of the missed opportunities I had around 7 years ago. Without having the house inspected, our landlord estimated the house (which is an farmhouse from the late 1700’s) and a small barn all on roughly 1,500 m2 is valued at 700,000€. This same property around 2013-2014 would have been around 400,000€, but unfortunately that ship has sailed. We currently pay 1400€ warm, which is about the norm for this type of property.

Hello @John Stanley,

I find myself in a similar situation as Dana, and I am curious as to what your opinion is on my situation and what I could potentially do.

My family and I currently live in Nürnberger Land and I am brand new to the real estate investment world. We, my wife and I, have written in the lease that we would be notified first and given the opportunity to purchase the house we are renting before it goes on the market.

Our idea was to purchase it and rent it out as a single family home. Based on your previous post, my wife is a German citizen and we could potentially find financing.

Any advice is greatly appreciate, and if anyone has experience with similar situations, your advice would be greatly appreciated as well!

@Austin R Jones Great to hear that someone here is from my neck of the woods! I read your bio. Do you house hack in Russellville?

Hello Biggerpockets!

I found the podcast a few weeks ago and I’m hooked!

My name is Sean Snizek and I’m from Russellville, AR. I have made the Army my career over the past 11.5 years, yet, I have always had an interest in real estate. I don’t have a real estate background and I am an absolute beginner to real estate investment world.

I started listening to the more recent episodes but realized that I need to start from the very beginning. Yes, I realize there is a lot of catching up to do, but I don’t want to miss out on anything!

From what I’ve heard so far, one of the biggest obstacles to overcome is taking action, so here I am! I don’t think I am ready to tackle my first deal as I am still in the education phase.

My plan is to eventually retire from the Army to North Central Florida, and in the mean time, build a rental portfolio of multi-family homes to have as a nest egg/twilight career.

I hear that the community here is friendly and super helpful and I look forward to hearing from everyone!
