Hi,

I'm looking for a referral for an hourly handyman in the Charleston, SC area.  Thank you

@Jonathan Klemm - My plan would be to BRRRR and continue adding properties over a number of years until I have enough coming in to dump the 9-5. Once I have more time to contribute, flipping sounds appealing. First property would be cash. I'd like to get into a conventional loan 30 yr after 6 months. Do you see any opportunities on the nw side or far nw burbs under 150K? I'd want to limit the scale of the renovations to minimize risk while learning and building relationships.

Thanks for all the responses. SFH to start. Would like to hire property management. I've met with one wholesaler and reached out to another, so I'm hopeful to start seeing some opportunities, but definitely looking to cast a bigger net and develop a team. First property will be cash and I have a few leads for long term financing when ready to refi. Need to find a good GC though.
Not interested in house hacking.

Hi, I'm interesting in putting the pieces in place to make a career change, starting out following the BRRRR strategy. I live in Irving Park and would like for my first property to be within a 20-30 minute drive (pre COVID). I feel like the more time I spend researching the property and the neighborhood the more successful I'll be. I also think the more time I spend at the property during the renovation, the more successful I'll be. That being said, the best opportunities seem to be far southside or south suburbs. I'm in the office 9-5 M-F and worry that for my first property to be an 2 hour roundtrip, I risk getting taking advantage of or miss out on some key learning opportunities.
Is this reasonable logic?  Should I wait for an opportunity in Hermosa or North Austin because I'm more likely to be able to visit the property more frequently.
Thanks for your time,

Sean
